The Trends of the Spring/Summer 2022 Collections You Must See
A highlight from all the catwalks from New York, London, Milan and Paris during the Spring/Summer 2022 season.

For the Spring/Summer 2022 season, the creative directors and stylists presented their collections to the world. The 1990s and early 2000s were still present while cut-offs and low-slung pants continued to dominate the runway. Moreover, there was the return of another popular trend of the era: the mini skirt.
Yes, it is back! And it was fully present at Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2022 capsule collection. Higher hemlines are just the latest indication that sensual, nude fashion is not going anywhere.
But, it was not so easy for the fashion industry. It underwent so many difficulties as the world too. Many designers were not able to host in-face catwalk shows due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and social restrictions imposed. Nevertheless, there are nowadays more in-face runway shows seen during Fashion Week. It was thanks to the loosening of restrictions.
Although schedules are not still back to “normal”, we could have the opportunity to see some fashion shows, for example, the Met Gala Event in September, New York City. Then, it was headed to London, Milan and Paris.
Below, we round up every major runway show moment you need to see from New York, London, Milan and Paris as worldwide designers present their spring/summer 2022 collections.
Gucci

Creative Director Alessandro Michele showed off his Spring/Summer 2022 collection titled “Nine Letters Dripping With Desire”. Hollywood was the ultimate destination for the designer, the child inside him and Los Angeles as the City of Angels to unleash his Gucci demigods for the collection.
As the models parade down the Boulevard, gowns opulent enough for red carpets, suits ready to be danced in and lingerie ready to be torn-off created a collection made for the dreamer. It was a cocktail of desire, confidence and waves of extravagant materials.

Bottega Veneta

Creative Director Daniel Lee showed off his Spring/Summer 2022 collection runway show, which took place in the Motor City’s Michigan Theater, an opulent place built in the 1920s. The Director says that he loves Detroit because it reminds him of his hometown of Leeds. “I’m obsessed with Detroit,” Lee said after the show.
The day’s event included a culture tour that made stops at the mid-century Hawkins Ferry House in Grosse Pointe; the world’s first and only techno museum, Exhibition 3000; and the studio of furniture designer Chris Schanck.

Alexander McQueen

Sarah Burton continues to represent the link between the Alexander McQueen brand and the capital of the United Kingdom. After presenting the collection on the banks of the Thames during the pandemic, the creative director of the Spring/Summer 2022 collection decides to conquer the fickle London sky.
Under the title “London Skies”, the show celebrates the beauty and immensity of white clouds clashing against the clear blue sky, masses of voluminous and above all changeable gaseous material. “I like the idea of the Alexander McQueen woman as a storm chaser. It’s not just about the beauty of the views, but also a sense of mystery and excitement, accepting the fact that we can never be sure what will happen next. Giving up control and being in direct contact with the unpredictable means being part of nature,” said Burton.

Miu Miu

Creative Director Miuccia Prada unveiled his Spring/Summer 2022 collection. It was all about showing skin and subverting traditionally corporate clothes.
The collection was a reaction to and reflection of reality, an economy, a freshness found in iterations of eternal, universal garments. Moreover, the foundations are classic – trousers, sweaters, shirts, blazers, suits and sheath dresses, absolute archetypes of everyday dresses.
Despite playing heavily on the low-rise Y2K trend, Miu Miu’s latest collection was still multifaceted. Equally referential, timeless and modern, it proves that Miuccia Prada’s versatility is virtually unparalleled. Her ability to stay true to the house while exploring past and present styles in a fun and elegant way proves this while ensuring that the Prada name has long remained at the forefront of the industry.
