Lydia Bielen’s Life & Deep Feelings
C: I would like to start this interview by knowing a little bit more about you as an individual. Who is Lydia Bielen on a normal day?
LB: On a normal day, I like to be outside and write in my journal. I like hanging out with my friends and family. I love animals. I live in Los Angeles, California.
C: What do you like doing the most in your free time?
LB: In my free time I like to workout, do yoga, be outdoors and paint.
C: Describe yourself in three words.
LB: Spontaneous, friendly, and smart.
C: Name three things you cannot live without.
LB: My family, my dog, and skincare.
C: Who/What is your biggest inspiration?
LB: My mom is my biggest inspiration. She raised my sisters and I all by herself when she was around my age, and she gave us an amazing life full of love and opportunities. I am so proud of her and inspired by her every day. She’s so amazing.
C: What is one thing you have to do before you start a workday and why?
LB: I have to do my skincare routine every day (2-3 times a day) but especially before a workday. I usually do a hydrating mask the night before so my skin is in great condition. I also usually eat light and healthy before work so I look and feel my best. Drinking plenty of water is also really important for having good skin.
Her Passion: The Modelling Industry
C: How and when did the idea of modelling start? Was it always your childhood dream?
LB: Modelling was never really a dream of mine as a child. I grew up in a small town where most people just go to college, graduate, get a normal job, get married and never leave the small town. However, when I was 17, I was waitressing at a restaurant in my hometown, and that’s where I was scouted for modelling.
C: How was your journey to becoming a model?
LB: Like any career, there are ups and downs, especially in the beginning. However, it’s always been an exciting job for me and has opened so many doors in my life, especially being able to travel and see the world through my work.
C: The everyday life of a model, with many shootings and travels, can be very exhausting. How do you manage to create a balance in your modelling life?
LB: It is definitely tiring sometimes. I always try to eat healthily, stay hydrated, exercise daily and take care of my skin. Having a healthy routine helps you stay balanced no matter where you are. Walking barefoot in the grass helps your body naturally adjust to jet lag, too. But it’s crazy after a few years of travelling all the time, I adjust to new time zones so much more quickly now. It’s easier for me to adjust to jet lag now. I guess I’m used to it, Ha ha.
C: You have posed for a lot of photo shootings wearing well-known fashion designs, including Chanel, Roberto Cavalli, and Charles Andron, among others. Which designers/creatives would be a dream to work with this year?
LB: I would love to work with Kylie Cosmetics this year.
C: What have you learnt as a Fashion Model over the years? What advice would you give to aspiring models?
LB: I have learned a lot since I started modelling: the industry, people, the world, and just life in general, for instance. I always say that travelling is the best teacher. My advice would be to always remember where you came from and who you are!
Dealing with Negative Comments on Social Networking Sites
C: You have got plenty of positive comments on each photo you upload on your social media. Your fans love you! How do you cope with comments that are not positive?
LB: I have amazing supporters! The best thing to do in the case of negative comments/messages is to just block that person. I don’t take it to heart because I know who I am as a person and don’t let strangers on the internet determine my self-worth.
Lydia Bielen’s Goals for 2022 and the Future
C: What professional goals would you like to accomplish this year?
LB: As I’m getting more into acting this year I would love to book a movie.
C: Where do you see yourself and your career in five years?
LB: I see myself financing a home and my dream car in 5 years.
Not Something You Can Do on Your Own!
C: Is there a particular person for whom you are grateful for who helped you get to where you are?
LB: I am so grateful for my manager Carlos Barril at Talent Model Management who has helped me grow as a model tremendously. He is amazing and goes above and beyond as a manager. He truly pushes me and believes in me. I’m so lucky to be a part of the agency.
