Taylor Swift, Lil Nas X and Anitta brought the drama to the MTV VMAs 2022 red carpet.

After coming to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in 2021, the MTV Video Music Awards returned to the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on Sunday, August 28.

The red carpet saw everyone from Dove Cameron to Lil Nas, Chloe Bailey, Anitta and Lizzo sporting dazzling looks. Floral prints were a Red Carpet theme at the 2022 VMAs, with Dove Cameron and Sabrina Carpenter sporting petals at the pre-show. Blackpink also surprised for the better, with Jennie’s dark dress featuring a floral skirt while the rest of the group kept it fresh with solid black fashion. Lil Nas opted for a spectacular black feathered ensemble and bare torso, while Jack Harlow chose a more sober outfit, with a black leather suit for his appearance on the red carpet. There were also see-through jumpsuits, conical shoulders and lots of cutouts.

Men were also present, of course! Most of them bared their torsos and sported gender-fluid fashions, bringing a certain softness to the menswear ensembles, with Conan Gray, Harris Reed Ethan Torchio.

The 2022 MTV VMAs had incredible performances from J Balvin, Bad Bunny and even hip-hop icon Nicki Minaj, as well as hosting the show alongside LL Cool J and Harlow. Red Hot Chili Peppers were the winners of the 2022 VMAs Global Icon Award.

Blackpink’s Members

Blackpink’s members Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé graced the red-carpet in complementary all-black outfits.

Dove Cameron

Singer Dove Cameron wore a strapless Paco Rabanne dress, combining with florals and leather fetishwear elements and a black choker to top it all off.

Jack Harlow

Nominee and host, Jack Harlow, wore a standard black suit and choose a chocolate leather ensemble, completing the look with a high-necked shirt in a similar hue.

Taylor Swift

Singer Taylor Swift was the QUEEN of the evening! She wore a sparkling dress by Oscar de la Renta and completed the look with a collar of diamonds wrapped around her neck to match baubles glittering across her arms. She also wore her dark blonde hair parted down the middle and tied back, with her signature bright red lipstick highlighting her flawless features.

Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X was on the spot during the evening award-event! He looked stunning wearing a sculptural Harris Reed ensemble featuring a tiered feathered skirt frame and headdress.

Anitta

Singer Anitta looked gorgeous paying homage to Lil Kim’s famed 1999 VMAs outfit. She wore an asymmetrical red corset and an artistic nipple cover from Schiaparelli Haute Couture Collection Fall/Winter 2022.

Colton Haynes

Actor Colton Haynes was impossible to miss in an acid-green flared suit by Dior, featuring a wrapped blazer, diamond brooch and platform shoes.

Conan Gray

Singer Conan Gray chose to grace the runway wearing a whimsical Harris Reed ensemble with a lace-trimmed train and blazer.
