Discover the most glamorous outfits of the acclaimed night in Los Angeles.

The 95th Academy Awards took over the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on Sunday, airing live on ABC. Some of music’s biggest stars were present and represented, including Lady Gaga and Rihanna. The pop queens, both nominated in the best original song category and who headlined the Super Bowl halftime show, performed during the Oscars 2023 telecast. Jimmy Kimmel was the big Oscar host this year, marking the third time the late-night talk show host has emceed the Academy Awards. This year, for the first time since 1961, the Oscars’ outdoor carpet is not red. Host Jimmy Kimmel had another theory about the carpet colour change. “People have been asking if there’s going to be a problem this year. I certainly hope not. But if there is, I think the decision to go with a champagne carpet instead of a red carpet shows how confident we are that no blood will be spilt,” he said.
Traditionally, the Academy Awards red carpet is where the world’s most prestigious stars present themselves the way they will be remembered, in their finest finery and dreamy attire. The stars came out in force. Black, white and bold colours dominated one new look after another. Lady Gaga, who performed her song Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick arrived in a black Versace gown with a sheer corset bodice. Florence Pugh wore black shorts with a dramatic cape, proving to be a true punk princess. Rihanna also looked totally hot in a laser-cut leather dress with sheer panels by Alaïa.
