The Best-Dressed Celebs at Critics’ Choice Awards 2023
From Anya Taylor-Joy to Elle Fanning, our favourite stars shined on the red carpet wearing glamorous looks.
The 28th edition of the Critics’ Choice Awards is back with an incredible ceremony to reward the best of the film and television industry in 2023. Hosted by Chelsea Handler, it was held on Saturday night at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
Of course, glamour and style took centre stage during the ceremony as our favourite stars walked on the red carpet wearing their finest. The event, one of the most important for critics, was attended by the biggest stars in their most elegant looks, such as Elle Fanning, Anya Taylor-Joy, Viola Davis, and Michelle Yeoh, just to name a few. One star who wasn’t in attendance, however, was Jamie Lee Curtis. The Everything Everywhere All At Once actress revealed on Saturday that she had been forced to pull out of appearing after testing positive for COVID-19 – just days after wowing audiences with her glamorous transformation at the Golden Globes – but she made sure to FaceTime in to her cast after EEAAO won best picture.
When it comes to fashion, the red carpet is the most important moment for celebrities to show off their most glamorous side by bringing out the best and brightest of Hollywood for a night of awards – and fashion, of course. Here’s a roundup of the celebs’ best-dressed on the red carpet.
Elle Fanning
Actress Elle Fanning wore a cream bustier gown with plenty of structure and cut-out detail from Alexander McQueen’s most recent collection. She paired it with jewels by Irene Neuwirth, including the designer’s one-of-a-kind Golden Blossom Sunflower earrings, and Christian Louboutin’s gold So Kate pumps.
Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson glimmered on the red carpet in a diaphanous silver tulle gown embellished with beading and floral appliques by Oscar de la Renta. Hudson paired the look with high-jewellery diamonds by Bulgari and Christian Louboutin’s Marchavekel knotted peep-toe sandal.
Aubrey Plaza
Aubrey Plaza’s custom Louis Vuitton gown was fully embellished with burgundy sequins and crafted with a high slit. The buzzy ‘White Lotus’ actress paired the gown with Louis Vuitton platform sandals and jewels by Pomellato.
Henry Golding
The Critics Choice Awards presenter, Henry Golding opted for the go-to fabric he favours on many red carpets, velvet, in this case a deep emerald green Boss tuxedo, paired with a black turtleneck.
Madelyn Cline
Madelyn Cline brought the drama in a fully feathered gown by Givenchy.
Anya Taylor-Joy
Anya Taylor-Joy opted for voluminous gown by Dior that was completely sheer and featured delicate embroidery, adding a dramatic updo to the Fifties-inspired ensemble.
