We take a closer look at the best outfits from this year’s red carpet.

The most-anticipated annual event, the Met Gala, is back, and while all the evening’s guests have done their best to impress, the Met Gala 2023 is known as “fashion’s biggest night” as this is where the stars put their best foot forward in terms of their outfits and extraordinary design comes to life. This year’s theme was inspired by Karl Lagerfeld, one of the most influential designers in the history of fashion. The theme “A Line of Beauty” focused on the style and elegance that characterized the designer’s work.

As every year, the event was attended by Hollywood A-listers, celebrities, singers, artists, and more, like Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Anne Hathaway Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Gisele Bündchen, among others, showing us their most creative side to replicate the work of Lagerfeld hand in hand with other major fashion houses.

It is important to highlight those artists who understood the slogan completely and showed a clear tribute to the German designer. From model Cara Delevingne reinventing the designer’s iconic shirt, to Conan Gray in a Balmain pearl suit, to Sora Choi in a plunging suit created by Thom Browne or the reinterpretation of the spectacular Chanel corset dress worn by Claudia Schiffer in 1992, worn by none other than Dua Lipa, the theme proposed a very specific and simpler line than in previous years.

Without further ado, we take a closer look at the best-dressed celebrities from the Met Gala 2023 red carpet.

JENNA ORTEGA

The star of the Netflix series “Merlina” stole the spotlight at the MET Gala 2023, wearing a tweed dress that Karl Lagerfeld brought to success with Chanel during the 90s. It was an asymmetrical design with ruffles on the skirt and long cauda with gold details that covered much of her outfit.

CARDI B

The rapper, wore a structured Chenpeng Studio dress, which started with a white shirt collar and tie before transitioning to a fitted black sweetheart neckline bodice adorned with silver studs. The full black skirt featured a quilted cape a la Chanel’s Boy Bag and was covered with huge sculptural rosettes.

LILY COLLINS

Lily Collins shined on the Met Gala 2023 ‘red’ carpet with a nod to her role as Emily in the Netflix series. The actress appeared in a black and white dress that had a word of embroidered with sequins on the tail: “Karl”, a design of the iconic American designer Vera Wang.

ROGER FEDERER

Co-chair Roger Federer looked amazing on the Met Gala 2023’s red carpet, wearing a simple yet chic look, which included a sharp black Dior tuxedo, a bow tie, and a pair of sunglasses for a touch of cool.

ANNE HATHAWAY

Anne Hathaway looked stunning at the Met Gala 2023. For the occasion, she opted for a custom-designed look from Atelier Versace-inspired by Chanel in tweed fabric, pearl detail, and camellia rose chest and a DNA-bearing story of Legacy Versace.

BAD BUNNY

Bad Bunny attended the Met Gala 2023 red carpet wearing an all-white tweed suit with a cutout back designed by Jacquemus. He also wore platform leather shoes, earrings, a rosette cape, and a silver chain necklace.

DUA LIPA

Dua Lipa looked completely gorgeous at the Met Gala 2023 gala event, exuding royalty, and timeless glamour. For the occasion, she wore a vintage figure-hugging corset bodice designed by Chanel. The dress was originally part of Chanel’s fall-winter 1992 collection and featured a low neckline, plus a full skirt with pockets and trimmed in tassels.

Jennifer Lopez made a stunning arrival on the Met Gala’s red carpet, wearing a black-and-pink Ralph Lauren gown. The Shotgun Wedding star also wore a black veiled headpiece, long black gloves, a pair of platform shoes, carats diamond studs, a clutch, and a black train attached to the back.
