Launched on June 8th, the new Mugler Spring/Summer 2022collection gives us a stunning fashion moment to our eyes. It focuses on ‘the speed of life’ and taking the audience on a cinematic adventure – the third one directed by Torso Solutions for the brand – featuring icons Chloë Sevigny, Bella Hadid, Earthheater, Amber Valletta and Megan Starring Thee Stallion to name a few.
Creative Director Casey Cadwallader has learned how to master every time by repeatedly designing ensembles for Dua Lipa, Cardi B, Miley Cyrus and more A-list celebrities who were part of his custom designs. Last week, the American fashion designer stepped up to co-direct the video clip Plan B for Megan Thee Stallion‘s hypnotic new single. The boss of Mugler came back yesterday with another exciting piece of content that should take over our social media.

Mugler Spring Summer 2022 Collection celebrates identity and self-expression “in a world of counterfeits and clones”. Set against a slightly surreal rendition of America’s East and West Coast, the collection features an all-star cast as its protagonists of a short film that presents viewers with micro-narratives transcending chronological time.
Chloë Sevigny makes her way through New York’s ersatz streets filmed by camera crews Shalom Harlow and Amber Valletta. Elsewhere, Bella Hadid turns the hood of a glossy limousine into her runway while Megan Thee Stallion is shown posing like a true goddess in a virtual billboard. Moreover, prima ballerina Maria Kochetkova and superstar Barbie Swaee engage in a graceful, contrasting sequence of dancing styles inspired by the fascinating duality of the house’s legacy.

For this Mugler Spring Summer 22 Collection, Cadwallader relies on the performing skills of his muses to showcase the versatility of the Maison. The collection features shapewear silhouettes, denim, eveningwear, and tailoring pieces in sand-like, earthy tones that meet monochromes and denim, embracing the models’ curves through optic effects. In addition, the past meets the future as Manfred Mugler’s archival pieces are referenced through loops and hooks used to suspend draped tops, trousers, and skirts throughout the collection.
The brand also plays with the concept of asymmetry, new dégradé ‘Hoochie’ dresses, challenging the viewer with unexpected designs and colours. Cutout bodies and corsets are embellished with lycra panels, structured busts, and gloved sleeves. Tailoring is also reinvented with a focus on a hyperfeminine vision of womanhood. Wool jackets are cut wide open to unveil the models’ décolleté as they march intrepidly on the severely pointed pumps and stiletto sandals from the latest Mugler shoe collection.
