Cèline Magazine: Ninoska, thank you for taking the time to speak with us today. Let’s jump straight into it! Your venture into the modelling realm commenced at a young age. Could you please tell us how you started working in the fashion industry?

Ninoska Guillén: Thank you for having me! Yes! Since I was little, my family told me that I could dedicate myself to the modelling industry because of my physique. However, it wasn’t until I turned 17 that I truly leaped into the world of modelling. My mother enrolled me in a modeling school, and a few years later, my current manager Carlos Barril contacted me and proposed to try it a few months in another country and see if I would like it. Airplanes have become a routine so far.

Cèline: What aspects of the modeling industry do you find most rewarding and fulfilling in your career?

Ninoska: One of the most gratifying aspects of my career in the modelling industry is undoubtedly the opportunity to engage in extensive travel and to learn about other cultures.

Cèline: Travelling the world for your career sounds exhilarating. Could you share a memorable experience or destination that has left a lasting impression on you during your modeling adventures?

Ninoska: I could tell you many things, but travelling to Australia was like a dream. I loved this place, even when I sometimes walked the streets, I felt like it was my country-of-origin Dominican Republic, and I felt like in home. My trip to Australia left a lasting impression on me, and I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience it.

Cèline: Many aspiring models look up to established figures in the industry. Who are your role models or sources of inspiration, and how have they influenced your approach to modeling?

Ninoska: When I think about role models in the modeling industry, the one person who has always stood out to me is Naomi Campbell. This woman is incredible, and I don’t lose hope of one day being able to work with her.

Cèline: A modelling career sounds like an exciting but demanding profession. Can you tell us a bit more about the challenges you face as a model?

Ninoska: Well, I love to eat hahaha, but because of my profession, I often have been self-conscious about not eating as much as I would like because of the fear of damaging my figure. Making a change of look (cutting your hair, getting a tattoo, etc.) is sometimes a problem to deal with, and it often becomes impossible to make it happen.

Cèline: Can you share with us your excitement and preparations for your upcoming trip to work in the USA? What projects or opportunities are you most looking forward to during your time there?

Ninoska: Well, the truth is that I’m dying to go there. It has always been one of my dreams as a model, and the thought of being able to work in such a vibrant and influential fashion market is incredibly exciting. I cannot wait to embark on this journey and see where it takes me. I know that there are countless opportunities awaiting for me, and I am sure I will work well.

Cèline: Are there any specific American designers or brands that you are particularly excited to collaborate with during your stay in the USA?

Ninoska: I would be so happy if I could collaborate with the cosmetic brand Kylie Cosmetics. Collaborating with Fenty Skim as well as with Alo would be a dream come true, too.

Cèline: Australia has a diverse and thriving fashion industry. Can you tell us about your experiences working there and any memorable moments or projects that left a lasting impact on your career?

Ninoska: It was great to work in Australia. I worked very well there. Even some fashion people told me that I was going to do well because my profile is very sought-after in Australia.

Cèline: You worked for many worldwide fashion brands. Can you share a bit about how these partnerships came about and what they mean to you?

Ninoska: Almost all these bookings were made by modelling agencies around the world. This makes me very happy to be represented by such effective agencies.

Cèline: Balancing a modelling career with the longing for family must be challenging. How do you cope with the emotional toll of being away from loved ones?

Ninoska: This has been the most difficult aspect for me, but it always fills me with strength and positivity to go and do what I like. My family and boyfriend know how important this is to me, and they always support me. Every day I talk to them, even if it’s just two minutes, and makes it easier to me regarding travelling and working as a model.

Cèline: It’s incredible to see how far you’ve come. What are your future goals in the modelling industry?

Ninoska: Thank you! I want to continue working and enjoying this experience for a few more years as I would like to dedicate myself to starting a family with my partner.

Cèline: Amid your bustling career, how do you maintain a sense of authenticity and stay true to yourself?

Ninoska: Uff, this has been a hard thing to handle for me, but thanks God, I know how to do it, and I try to trust in myself and my potential.

Cèline: Fashion trends are constantly evolving. How do you stay updated and adapt your personal style to remain relevant in the ever-changing world of modeling?

Ninoska: I don’t have a single style. I really wear whatever I feel comfortable with. If you are involved in this world of fashion, it becomes in some way “easier” for you as you are in constant contact with stylists and see how they innovate.

Cèline: Your journey is undoubtedly inspiring. Can you offer advice to aspiring models who might be hesitant to take that initial leap into the unpredictable world of fashion?

Ninoska: Thank you for your kind words. To aspiring models who might be hesitant to take their initial leap into the fashion industry, I would say, do it, don’t be afraid, because it may be scary, and you may have doubts, but if you really like it, all that fear will turn into exciting experiences.

Cèline: Thank you, Ninoska, for sharing your inspiring story with us.

Ninoska: Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my story. It has been a pleasure to talk to you in this interview.
