Jennifer Lopez Reveals How She Takes Care of her Body & Skin

Jennifer Lopez recently turned 52 and yet her skin looks so young. Find out the details of her daily skin routine below.


Several people have been obsessed with the secrets behind Jennifer Lopez’s glowing skin for years. The actress admits that her incredibly youthful complexion is a frequent topic of conversation. “Everywhere I go, the number one question people ask is, ‘What are you doing for your skin?’ Even my closest friends tell me, ‘Come on, what are you doing with your skin?'”.

That’s why, she recently launched JLo Beauty, a range of products inspired by her five skin essentials: sleep, sunscreen, serums, supplements, and living healthily. With the launch of her skincare line in December 2020, fans finally got the opportunity to glow like her.

On April 6, she took to Instagram to show her morning skincare routine on a Livestream video. She used products from her line, as well as personal tips on the importance of daily skincare. One of them was the importance of sunscreen. “A dermatologist told me at a very young age to wear sunscreen. That was a big part of why I was able to maintain a youthful appearance because I used it as my moisturizer every day.”

Since then, her basic routine hasn’t changed and doesn’t include any high-tech anti-ageing ingredients, let alone cosmetic interventions. “I have to say I have good genes. My mom and grandmother had beautiful skin, so I was blessed that way. I haven’t had any plastic surgery…no injectables, no fillers, nothing like that.”

STEP Nº 1: Morning Routine

The next step is to get a glow skin by using That JLo Glow Serum. “This is the secret ingredient, it took 21 iterations of this to get it right,” she explains. ‘People go, “How do I get that glow? How do I get that glow?” I put it in a bottle and say, ‘Here.’



JLo explains that SPF is her real-must have skincare item. She applies a dollop of the whipped formula all over her face and neck. ‘From being very, very young, you have to wear sunscreen,” Jennifer states, “That is probable one of the biggest things that I did from a very young age that helped me to preserve my skin.”

She also added, “A dermatologist told me at a very young age to use sunscreen, and I was like, ‘What do I need sunscreen for? I live in New York.’ But the truth is, that was a big part of why I was able to say youthful-looking because I used it as my moisturizer every single day. It helped me protect myself from the elements, and enough people don’t understand that such a big part of staying youthful looking is using sunscreen every day.”

  1. Wash your face after working out

JLo emphasizes on having our face clean after working out to get a healthy skin. “I always, always wash my face after a workout. That helps keep my pores clean, and my skin feeling healthy.”

  • Never sleep in your makeup

Jennifer says that you never should go to sleep without cleaning your makeup look. Having a nightly cleansing routine is crucial for her as he explains, “I never go to bed without taking my makeup off, (and I use) night creams to keep my skin hydrated,” She also emphasizes that sleeping is also crucial for a healthy skin. “Ideally, I would love to get nine or 10 hours of sleep. But either way, I always make sure I get at least eight.”

  • Try not to wear makeup on off-days

JLo uses a lot of makeup for work. So, when she is in her free times or not working, she tries to keep her beauty look wearing no makeup at all. “I am pretty low-key when it comes to my day-to-day beauty routine… When I am not working, I tend to wear little to no makeup,” she says.

  • Take care of your body

Lopez claims that not only does a skincare routine has an important aspect in keeping your skin fresh and stunning, but also taking care of your body becomes a must-follow daily routine. Jennifer is really careful about how she fuels her body from the insider out. “I don’t drink or smoke or have caffeine. That really wrecks your skin as you get older.” Instead, she suggests living a green-and-H20 life and “eat a lot of green vegetables, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, and kale,” and adds, “you should drink at least seven glasses of water a day.”
