All the Details about ‘Barbie’ Movie & the ‘Barbiecore’ Boom Trend
Here is all you need to know about the upcoming film ‘Barbie’ and the 2022 trend which is turning the world pink: The ‘Barbiecore’.

The new upcoming film ‘Barbie’ will be directed by Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird – 2018; Little Woman – 2020) and, it will have an incredible cast and controversial plot. Nowadays, there are plenty of rumors and whisperings about this new movie, based on the iconic Mattel toy doll. However, it seems that the indie darling on screen is putting her stamp firmly on modern feminist cinema with her partner Noah Baumbach.
“Right in the beginning, we had a sleepover for the Barbies, which would involve playing games with Scott [Evans] and Ncuti [Gatwa],” she said.
She later added that ““Barbie is light and funny and silly and American and pink.”
“People immediately have an idea of, ‘Oh, Margot is playing Barbie, I know what that is,'” she said, “But our goal is to be like, ‘Whatever you’re thinking, we’re going to give you something totally different — the thing you didn’t know you wanted.'”

On the other hand, ‘Barbie’ is not only the most anticipated movie for 2023, but it is also a trend in fashion. Hot pink is everywhere, on everyone, on every runway show, and of course, following the latest trends in fashion becomes key.
Barbie is definitely gearing up to hit the big screen. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming film:

As regards the film’s plot: ‘Barbie’ is set in “Barbieland,” a beautiful, colorful society with Kens and Barbies. Ryan Gosling’s Ken, said to be a “complete doofus”, is obsessed with Barbie, but loves the real world for all the reasons Barbie hates it (beauty standards, sexism, etc). Gerwig’s film eventually becomes a “big fish out of water comedy” as Ken and Barbie leave “Barbieland” for the real world and the Mattel CEO (Will Ferrell) goes after the duo to bring them back to Barbieland. If it sounds painfully clichéd, it’s worth noting that feminist auteur Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) is both writing and directing the movie, with input from her partner Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story).

The titular role of the Barbie film will be the gorgeous Margot Robbie, with Ryan Gosling as Barbie’s boyfriend, Ken. Moreover, the film will also include notable actors Kate McKinnon, America Ferrera, Hari Nef, and most intriguingly, Sex Education’s Emma Mackey who also signed with co-star Ncuti Gatwa (yet-to-be-revealed role) with rumours that Robbie Robbie Doppelganger could be playing one of Barbie’s three young sisters, Skipper, Chelsea, and Stacie.
Sex Education’s Ncuti Gatwa joins in Barbie Movie.
As announced by Warner Bros. Pictures at CinemaCon 2022 (Las Vegas), the movie is set to hit cinemas on July 21, 2023.
A seemingly endless number of photos and videos from the film set trend on twitter what seems like every couple of days. Here are some pictures below.

Barbie’s New Film: A Trend
The return of Barbiecore rose in popularity in the fashion industry thanks to the upcoming “Barbie” movie. Fashion runways and red carpets had an influx of hot pink. Last season, Valentino PP had an entirely hot pink runway show with 22 complete looks in the Barbie-approved shade. Since then, other fashion brands started unveiling their collections in the vibrant pink colour such as Versace, Carolina Herrera, Alexander McQueen, Loewe, Lanvin, Michael Kors, Molly Goddard, etc.

The trend started with fashion and beauty (think monochrome pink outfits and bleached hair). We have officially entered the era of Barbiecore.

Moreover, many celebrities are keen on wearing this trend like Leonie Hanne, Elsa Hosk, Zendaya, Lizzo, Anne Hathaway, Kim Kardashian, among others.
